#289 RP Main St. Hartford w/ Trolley !
Here is another great item from Postcardguy Antiques! It's a super Real Photo postcard image of the busy downtown area of Hartford Connecticut ! This early RPPC image is a neat one! Easily seen is the large Insurance Co. building on the corner. The building has awnings over just about all the windows! On the corners stands a town clock. The building to the right appears to be under construction, with two cranes on the roof. Further down the street are horse drawn wagons. To the left of this view is a super building with many signs. They read "The Taylor Photo Studio", "Conn. River Banking Co.", "Southern Farm Loans" and more! An early trolley comes down the side street towards Main Street! The front of the card reads "Insurance Co. Building, And Main Str. Hartford". Back of card is undivided and is postally unused. Card back has a simple "Place Stamp Here" stamp box. Back is printed "Bamforth & Co., Publishers New York City, Copyright 1905 By Robt. McCrum". Someone has written in pencil "Taylor Photo", probably referencing the photo company in the view. Condition is very good, but has a 5/8" tear at the top edge (can be easily repaired with Archieval tape). A sharp Conn. image! Any other lines or waves are from the scanner and not on the actual image.
