#473 Civil War Field Dead Inventory
This is an original Civil War field inventory of a soldiers final effects found on the battlefield! This is nice! The piece consists of a double sided sheet of paper, tri-folded. On the front it reads "Inventory Of The Effects Of _____ Late Of Company _____ Reg't Of ____ Volunteers , Who Died At _____ On The Day Of _________ 186 ___. Another panel describes the "Articles Of War" and directions to process the final effects found on dead soldiers. Back of sheet is the actual "Inventory", listing clothing articles of clothing, uniforms, knapsacks, money, etc. Also collects specific info on the soldier himself, name, age, how..when and where he died etc. Has a spot to be certified by the Commander. An bizarre / macabe old piece!!! This original military form is unsued. Condition is very good as shown, in its folded state. No rips or tears, just light creasing as shown.
